Back in April, presidential hopeful Joe Biden appeared on CBS’s The Late Late Show holding up a photo of himself posing with his two sons from back when they were in college. The clip is many months old, but it recently resurfaced after observers happened to notice that Biden was using a teleprompter during this very basic television interview.
While it is not 100 percent verified that Biden did, in fact, use a teleprompter, a careful analysis of the footage shows what appears to be green text reflecting off the glass of the photo and into Biden’s camera. Just seconds after the text first appeared, the show quickly cut to a shot of host James Corden, only to flip back again to Biden holding up the photo.
A slowed-down version of the moment when the apparent teleprompter text appeared in Biden’s camera quickly went viral after being shared to Twitter, racking up even more views than the official footage that was uploaded by The Late Late Show.
“Check out the teleprompter in the reflection,” tweeted a user named Michael Moore (not the leftist of documentary fame). “Biden blatantly read from a script for most of the interview with James Corden … I bet his handlers weren’t too happy with him going off script. He probably got reprimanded.”

T.J. Ducklo, Biden’s press secretary, spoke with Fox News‘s Bret Baier the other day and was asked whether or not the presidential candidate uses aids to help him with answers during TV interviews. Ducklo dodged the question and of course made the issue about President Trump.
“We are not going to eng – Bret, this is straight from the Trump campaign talking points,” Ducklo stated, adding that such a question is “trying to distract the American people.”
Baier asked again in yes-or-no fashion whether Biden uses a teleprompter during his media appearances, to which Ducklo reiterated his non-answer, refusing to provide any clarity.
“I’m not going to allow the Trump campaign to funnel their questions through Fox News and get me to respond to that,” Ducklo stated.
Back in early September, speculation surrounding Biden’s use of a teleprompter was kicked into high gear after the candidate spoke the words “topline message” during another media appearance – “topline message” appearing to be the descriptor words at the top of the teleprompter.
Biden had been trying to answer a question about the Trump administration’s policies in Venezuela when he suddenly started “reading the header,” says Josh Holmes, former chief of staff to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
When asked directly by Breitbart News about whether Biden uses a teleprompter, the Biden campaign once again refused to answer the question, which appears to be an answer of yes in disguise.
Trump, of course, quickly tweeted about the revived video footage, calling on all mainstream media organizations to start pressing the Biden campaign about Biden’s alleged use of a teleprompter.
“He’s getting the question in one color and his answer in another!” wrote one Breitbart News commenter, pointing out that two different text colors appeared in Biden’s photo reflection.
“Biden is of no substance,” wrote another. “A man of substance would have opinions and conviction regarding same, and want to express them. Want to see if they resonate.”
This same commenter added that Biden is doing a terrible job of “faking sincerity,” and is only following the script of his handlers, proving he was selected rather than elected.
“If Joe doesn’t have a teleprompter, then he doesn’t have the ability to say coherent sentences to ‘preplanned questions’ which is precisely what a puppet does,” wrote another. “No brains required.”
