The Trump administration is putting an end to the “critical race theory” training that is used in federal agencies. Calling the practice “anti-American propaganda,” Trump tweeted: “This is a sickness that cannot be allowed to continue.”
Critical race theory is defined by Harvard University legal scholars as drawing “upon a variety of critical strategies to expose how law constructs race to disadvantage persons of color.”
According to a two-page memo penned by Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, training on so-called white privilege, critical race theory and other propaganda efforts that suggest the U.S. is inherently racist will be stopped.
The memo, which was sent to the heads of federal agencies and other offices, said: “It has come to the President’s attention that Executive Branch agencies have spent millions of taxpayer dollars to date “training” government workers to believe divisive, anti-American propaganda.”
Some employees in the executive branch have been taught in classes that nearly every white person contributes to racism and that the belief that America is the land of opportunity is also somehow racist. Vought said such teachings foster resentment and division among the federal workforce.
Vought directed agencies to start identifying any contracts or spending that is related to training on topics such as critical race theory and white privilege. Further guidelines on implementing the President’s new directive are expected to be released soon.
Discovery Institute researcher Christopher Rufo recently said that critical race theory was the federal government’s default ideology. He told Tucker Carlson Tonight about a mandatory retreat at the Sandia National Laboratories, which is responsible for designing nuclear weapons. At the “White Men’s Caucus on Eliminating Racism, Sexism, and Homophobia on Organizations,” they discussed so-called examples of “white male culture” like golf, being brave, and taking risks.
In July, the federal National Museum for African American History and Culture published a graphic linking concepts like the nuclear family and decision-making to whiteness. Rufo says there are lots of instances of similar training throughout federal agencies such as the FBI.
Trump retweeted a clip of Rufo’s Tucker Carlson Tonight appearance discussing critical race theory.
This leftist indoctrination was a big theme of the speech President Trump gave at Mount Rushmore on Independence Day. On that occasion, he spoke out against theories that “defame our heroes, erase our values, and indoctrinate our children.”
Last week, Trump called on federal government agencies to review possible funding cuts to those cities that are experiencing “lawless” protests, saying that his administration won’t let federal tax dollars go to cities that are letting themselves deteriorate into lawlessness.
He said: “To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.”
Attorney General William Barr has been instructed to publish a list of “anarchist jurisdictions” on the Department of Justice website indicating where authorities are failing to take actions to counteract criminal behavior.
The idea that all white people could be guilty of racism whether they mean to or not merely because they happen to be white is a ridiculous one, and perpetuating this idea is incredibly dangerous. Critical race theory is a leftist doctrine that is stoking so much anger and hatred among radical organizations like antifa and Black Lives Matter, and far too many American cities are paying the price right now.
