Libtard teacher who called U.S. military personnel “dumbsh*ts” and “lowest of the low” is now under investigation

In America everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but just because you’re entitled to comment on anything and everything doesn’t mean you should, especially when you’re an authority figure and have influence over young people.

As such, it’s entirely appropriate for a California public school district to launch an investigation into disparaging — and wholly false — comments one of its teachers made to his students about U.S. military personnel.

Gregory Salcido, who also sits on the Pico Rivera City Council, told students in his history class recently, using vulgar language, that members of the military are dumb, untalented individuals who only joined the service because, well, they’re too stupid to do anything else — a rant that was caught on video/audio by a student in his class.

“They’re the frickin’ lowest of our low,” Salcido can be heard saying in one of the videos.

“We’ve got a bunch of dumbsh*ts over there. Think about the people who you know who are over there — your freaking stupid uncle Louis or whatever, they’re dumbsh*ts,” Salcido continued. “They’re not, like, high-level thinkers, they’re not academic people, they’re not intellectual people, they’re the freaking lowest of our low.”

That was too much for at least one student in his class, who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of retribution from his classmates. He told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune that he hails from a military family and felt Salcido’s rant was “disrespectful.”

Uh, to say the least.

“It was so disrespectful to my dad and my uncles and all veterans and those still in the military,” the student told the paper.

The student was wearing a Marine Corps shirt and said that’s what set Salcido off.

“And I told him it was a family tradition,” said the student. “My dad’s done it, my two uncles have done it. And I just wanted to continue that tradition because it’s also something I wanted to do as a kid. And he said, ‘So if it was a family tradition to beat women, would you continue it too?’”

What an idiot. (Related: Lawyers sue California because too many kids CAN’T READ)

“You better not freaking go,” the teacher told the student, adding: “Don’t wear that in here.”

Not only was his rant disrespectful but, as The National Sentinel reports, his claims are also factually incorrect. Military members are among the most educated demographic in the country, and far more so than the general population. In 2010, 82.8 percent of U.S. military officers had at least a bachelor’s degree, compared with 29.9 percent of the general population; 93.6 percent of enlisted soldiers had at least a high school diploma, compared with 59.5 percent of America.

The education level has only increased since then, particularly among military officers. The Pew Research Center noted that not only was the U.S. military becoming more diverse but “military officers have considerably higher levels of educational attainment on average than enlisted personnel and adults.”

For his ignorance, Salcido’s now being investigated by the school board. “This is not something that we are taking lightly,” said board president Aurora R. Villon. “We are moving very diligently.”

What’s to investigate? The school has already verified that Salcido was the one who made the comments. And he de facto admitted it on Facebook, the Washington Times reported, claiming he was being harassed and threatened (while hypocritically citing his right to free speech). Get rid of him.

And oh, by the way, you could make the argument that he’s aiding and abetting our enemies; by disparaging (and lying) about the military, which is all-volunteer and relies on young people to fill its ranks, he’s hurting military readiness by turning young minds against serving.

This man doesn’t need to be “teaching” children. He’s a horrible influence, not a “defender” of free speech.
