Figures: California Democrat has no problem LYING about firearms in order to push his anti-Second Amendment agenda

To most Americans words mean things and when the wrong words or terminology are used, then they understand it is not possible to accurately convey their message.

Then again, there are those who know that but intentionally misuse terms and language — they lie, in other words — to push a certain agenda.

Democrats routinely do that, and when it comes to the issue of guns or, more accurately, gun control, they’re willing to lie effortlessly if it means they get their way.

As reported by The Western Journal, one Democrat who loves to alter facts and bend the truth is U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu from Marxist California, a state that hates most everyone who doesn’t live there as well as every word of the Second Amendment.

In a recent back-and-forth on Twitter following last week’s latest tragic mass murder incident at a Parkland, Fla., school, Lieu responded to Fox News columnist Todd Starnes who observed that some teenagers who showed up to CNN’s shoutfest…er…“town hall” to scream at Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and threaten to burn NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch were not being polite.

“This crowd is hostile. Do the kids speak to their parents and teachers with the same level of disrespect?” Starnes, who is known for supporting traditional Christian values, tweeted.

Lieu responded: “How quaint that some folks are more concerned about kids speaking respectfully than the fact that 17 kids were slaughtered with an assault rifle.”

Well, that characterization of the shooter’s weapon is false, and that’s not me talking, that’d be the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, which defines assault rifles as those which “can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire.”

Parkland, Fla., school shooter Nikolas Cruz used a rifle that looks like a military assault rifle but is not a military assault rifle because it only fires in semiautomatic mode. Fully-automatic assault rifles have been banned to the general public since 1934.

Sean Davis, co-founder of The Federalist, pointed out that words matter in a tweet to Lieu, “You said ‘assault rifle,’ turbo. Words mean things. If you don’t know which words mean which things, don’t use those words.”

“NO,” Lieu responded (like a petulant child, I might add). “I will keep saying assault rifle if I feel like it. I will not let you define what I can or cannot say. In any statute, the term assault weapon or assault rifle would be defined. But in ordinary conversation, I will use assault rifle interchangeably with assault weapon.”

Even if he’s 1,000 percent wrong. (Related: Ironic: Mentally-unstable Democrats are questioning Trump’s mental health.)

Another Twitter user pointed out that it’s a “bizarre move for an elected official” to decline to use proper language and terms. In response, Lieu said it was “bizarre” that some were more concerned about how he mislabeled guns, and as Democrats do, he deflected from his preference for using an incorrect term.

“If you are more bothered by me saying AR-15-style assault rifle than by the fact that 14 students and 3 adults were slaughtered by an AR-15-style rifle, then I respectfully suggest that is what is bizarre,” he wrote.

Right, Ted. Only you Democrats ‘care about the children.’

This is typical of his party. Remember the “Affordable Care Act?” How “affordable” was Obamacare for most Americans?

Or how about the fact that Democrats like to call themselves “progressives” — all while advocating for the destruction of certain constitutional rights. If the United States was run like California we’d all be living like our founders were under King George.

That’s not “progressive,” that’s “regressive.”

The Democratic Party is to politics what fake news is to journalism. They don’t have any real solutions for our school shooting epidemic, only their default knee-jerk reaction of “Ban guns!”

That’s not a solution, that’s an agenda.

We’ve already banned non-medical opioid use but they still have found their way into public schools.

Where’s your outrage over that, Ted — and do you plan to walk out of another congressional moment of silence for the next shooting victims?
